Louise

Hi, I’m Louise, owner of Bow Occasions, Marketing Manager at FGS Recruitment, wife and mum to my one-year-old, Dominic. Phew…that seems like a lot!

One day I had an idea…

Bow Occasions started in 2010 whilst I was planning my own wedding. With a background in marketing and events and a crave to do something for myself in my own time, I took a wedding planning diploma, purchased a domain name and built a website. I got my first client in 2011 and have been planning weddings ever since.

Why do you love what you do?

Every couple I work with is different to the next and no two days are the same. I often work with couples for over a year so by the time their wedding days comes, they feel like friends. Wedding ceremonies still get me and I can’t help but get emotional.

Have there been any challenges?

Being a wedding planner is not like they make it seem in the movies. Planning a wedding is a very emotional and sometimes stressful time (even with a wedding planner) and there have been times where I’ve had to council my couples and even their parents throughout the process. It’s a very trust based business.

What goals do you have for your business this year?

I’ve made the decision to take on only full planning and design clients going forwards which means I can provide my couples with a higher level of service and not spread myself too thin.

If I wasn’t in this fabulous career now I would have been a…

Graphic and Web Designer

We love a fun fact here at Lumina, can you tell us something fun about either yourself or your business?

Before getting engaged, I was never into weddings (perhaps I shouldn’t admit that!) so the need to set up my own wedding planning company came as quite the surprise however I absolutely love it!
