Lumina wins Gold
Jul 05, 2016
On Thursday 23rd June our Acting Marketing Manager Maxine attended the Kent Digital Awards. The ceremony was held at Brandshatch and the room was filled with fantastic companies – all finalists in their categories.
The excitement began for Lumina back in March when our website design company iFour had told us they had nominated our new website for the Website B2B award. We were thrilled and even more so when it was announced in April that we, Lumina Energy, were a finalist. It was a competitive category, especially for iFour as they had another company selected along with us. Here were the finalists:
- Ashford Borough Council by Pillory Barn
- DMP by ifour
- Folkestone Works by Shepway District Council
- Lane4 Management Group by Yoyo Design
- Lumina Energy by ifour
- Pantechnik International by YmeriHart
- Uniware Systems by Open Water
The evening was brilliant. Compering the event was former BBC broadcaster Robin Bailey and he presented the Gold, Silver and Bronze awards to the winners. As the ceremony began our table were all on tenderhooks as iFour were a finalist in the second award of the evening for best Business Blog and they won – Gold! It was an incredible evening for the iFour team as they were finalists in 6 of the award categories and as the evening went on more awards followed for them and the companies they had worked with.
Near the end of the evening it was Lumina’s turn. We all waited patiently while the finalists were announced and then Bronze was awarded to Ashford Borough Council by Pillory Barn. Then Silver to Lane 4 Management Group by Yoyo Design and our whole table were on the edge of their seats. Robin took us through some of the judges comments of “colourful” and “making what can be a mundane subject engaging and exciting” and finally he announced that Lumina Energy wins the Gold. Obviously there was huge uproar of cheers and merriment from the iFour table as Maxine and Graham, Creative Director of iFour, took to the stage to collect the award and be interviewed by Robin.
Our new website has been running since October last year and a lot of work was involved in not only creating a more customer friendly website but also making it responsive so that it was functional on any device. We focus on making our site full of content that our customers would find engaging including blog posts on small business advice to energy efficiency top tips. We are very pleased with the journey we have made with the site and constantly look at what improvements we could make.
The rest of the Lumina team were absolutely thrilled to found out we had won the award. It’s a fantastic achievement for everyone involved in our new website and we are proud to “show off” our award.
