New Year, New You

Jan 04, 2017

New year, new me. We have all heard this expression a thousand times before and it is reported that over 90 percent of us don’t see our New Years Resolutions through to the end of the year. We can help you plan realistic and achievable goals making this expression not only a social media update, but a personal businesses statement you can be proud of.

Travelling to an unfamiliar country is a popular New Years Resolution for many people, and there is no reason why travelling somewhere for business purposes should be any different. How often do you visit your customers? Once or twice a year perhaps?  Think about whether your clients would benefit from a catch up meeting with you. This will make them feel valued and shows that you really care about their input.

Business travel can also help your personal development. Research, discover and attend local business events that can help your company strategy. From seminars to interactive workshops, all of this can help any business succeed, boosting your personal confidence along the way.

Work techniques

Take a step back and look at your current working style and environment. Is there anything you would change? Making small alterations to your working technique can result in increased positivity and inspiration.

  • Music can have a massive impact in the way you conduct yourself at work, allowing you to relax and focus on the more tedious tasks.
  • Create short and daily to do lists. These keep your mind on track by having an end of the day deadline to stick to. This reduces the risk of being counter-productive.
  • Exercise during your lunch break. From going for a run, to performing some simple stretches, a little work-out can increase brain activity and keep you charged for the rest of the day.

Take a break

Taking regular breaks during the working day is extremely important as this increases brain activity helping you to concentrate for longer. There are many people who believe that they just have too much work to take the time out, however this could severely affect your performance. It has been reported that only 1 in 5 office workers take an actual lunch break, missing out on this personal time could result in low stamina and boredom.

Market research

Market and social media research is a massive part of running a successful business, however it can be easy to fall behind in this fast moving online environment. A little research and reporting goes a long way and can increase your business development. Look into platforms such as Google Analytics and Twitter for reports. These useful tools collect key data from potential customers so that you can see the most popular times to promote your service.
